Understanding, Measuring and Recording the Movements of the Thumb

With focus on turning measurements in to adaptive therapy

Carpometacarpal (CMC) joint of the thumb is the most important joint that affects quality of life. Measuring and tracking this joint enhances the treatment of problems related to CMC joint. We aim to provide provide haptic stimulation at desired levels of 3D displacement, force and duration to treat partial loss of mobility of the thumb and hand, caused by various reasons including arthritis, trauma or stroke.

Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Öksüz has been part of the faculty at Hacettepe University Ergotherapy Department since 2011.

She has been conducting clinical trials of innovative therapy devices for more than a decade. She will be responsible for the validation of project outcomes.
